A Bentley is a perfect luxury sedan – the pinnacle of luxury, performance, and power.
With its gorgeous exterior and an equally breathtaking interior filled with advanced technology as well as its high-performance powertrain, a Bentley motorcar won’t leave you lacking anything automotive.
And if you are purchasing a Bentley, you may want to configure your Bentley according to your preferences, personality, and desires.
From the moment the first Bentley was created in 1919, the human touch has been vital to the Bentley philosophy of unrivaled craftsmanship and performance. This is why, at the Bentley factory in Crewe, North-West England, thousands of highly skilled craftspeople are involved in crafting our cars by hand – and in the Mulliner workshop, unique bespoke cars are created.
From the veneers, embroidery, and leather inside to the paintwork that adorns the exteriors, Bentley’s craftspeople take enormous pride in the cars they make. It’s why they deliver such stunning attention to detail – for an in-car experience that delights the senses.
And it’s all here so that you can create the Bentley of your dreams.
The first step is deciding what to customize.
And just about every last inch of a Bentley can be customized, from the specific colors, leathers, and finishes to the exact powertrain you desire.

So let’s take a quick look at a few of the things you will want to consider as you prepare to configure your Bentley.
Veneers.
What favorite type of wood do you want to select as a veneer? One of the most striking features of a Bentley interior is the ring of veneer that encircles the cabin. To create a sense of symmetry, Bentley’s craftspeople use a process called mirror-matching, which involves joining sheets of veneer that came from the same section of a single tree. The result is a continuous grain pattern that surrounds the driver and passengers. Today, Bentley offers veneers from trees that grow all over the world. From the rich, smoky grain of Dark Stained Burr Walnut to bespoke choices including paler, straight grain species, every panel is cured for 72 hours, then sanded and lacquered five times to bring its natural beauty to life.
Hide.
Would you prefer a certain type of leather for your Bentley’s seats? The refined comfort of a Bentley is due in no small part to the high quality of the leather used throughout the cabin. This is thanks to a process that begins long before the hides reach the factory in Crewe. It starts with cattle that graze at high altitudes in Northern Europe, where insect bites that cause blemishes are less likely to occur. A special tanning process follows, allowing the hides to retain their natural leather aroma, reminiscent of classic Bentley interiors. Sections of the hide with high natural elasticity are reserved for curved areas such as the seats, ensuring the ideal finish in every part of the cabin.
Cloth.
In the 1920s and 30s, it was not uncommon to use cloth instead of leather for the interior of your Bentley. Since then, it has only been used on bespoke commissions by Mulliner, and on cars built for the British Royal Family – until the creation of the EXP 100 GT. For the door panels of this concept car, Gainsborough Mill, British fabric weavers for over a century, created a beautiful Cotton Damask. They used cotton dyes to create a sophisticated ombré colour gradation which makes it look as if the textile flowed seamlessly into the adjoining veneer, adding to the cabin’s harmonious feel. Bentley has also worked with Hand and Lock, who have been producing handmade embroideries in London for over 250 years. They used the Trapunto method, dating back to the 14th century, to create a contemporary raised quilting that adds comfort and depth to the interior.
Seat configuration.
How exactly would you like your seats configured so that you and your guests are most comfortable inside your Bentley? For instance, you can now choose the new Airline Seat Specification for the Bentley Bentayga EWB, which is the most advanced seat ever fitted to a car. With 22 ways of adjustment, the world’s first auto climate sensing system and advanced postural adjustment technology offer the finest rear accommodation since the Mulsanne. A postural adjustment system automatically makes micro-adjustments to the passenger’s seating position and pressure points, using an algorithm developed in collaboration with a chiropractor.
Exterior Paint.
Bentley Mulliner offers a range of optional bespoke features that can take the finish of your car to new heights. From body-coloured paint on the wheels and exterior detailing to artisan fabrics that will elevate your cabin upholstery, they represent the next level of Mulliner’s bespoke craftsmanship. Not only do they offer a showcase of sustainability and innovation, but they give you a wonderful opportunity to make your car your own.
In fact, there’s such a long list of available options that you can add just about anything you like when you configure your Bentley.
But if you choose, you can also purchase a Bentley that has been configured with an eye on life in the Coachella Valley.
Consider our Colors of Inspiration Collection.
To celebrate everything bright, happy, and fun about visiting the desert – from its hotels and swimming pools to its golf courses and blue sky – Desert European Motorcars has created the Colors of Inspiration collection for Bentley Rancho Mirage.
Each one of these very special Bentleys in the Colors of Inspiration Collection has gorgeous exterior paint colors matched with exciting fun and leisure-inspired pinstriping in bright hues such as “Hyperactive” orange, “Vibrant” Yellow, “Turquoise” Blue, and “Bespoke” White. The bright color accents lend a dramatic effect set against more classic exterior paint colors such as Arctic White, Satin Anthracite Grey, Beluga Black, and Cambrian Grey.
The collection comprises a limited edition of three Bentley models – the Continental, Flying Spur, and Bentayga – in colors and finishes that recall the “fun and happy” vibe of the desert.
The Highlighter Yellow trim, for instance, seems to harken back to 1980s spring break in Palm Springs, while the Tiffany Blue trim lends a more classic Hollywood/mid-century modern vibe.
Three models are offered in four color combinations for both the Bentley eight-cylinder engine model and the 12-cylinder engine model, he noted. “They are in essence one of a kind because you are never going to see more than one of these exact cars. So if someone wants the black one with bespoke white trim, then only one buyer gets the eight-cylinder and one buyer gets the 12-cylinder.”

The Colors of Inspiration collection demonstrates what can be achieved through the Mulliner personal commissioning process, where the customer, retailer, and Mulliner’s design team collaborate to create truly unique cars.
Mulliner’s association with Bentley, in fact, stretches back to the earliest days of the company.
Now Bentley’s known as an in-house personal commission division, Mulliner plays a key role in defining the company’s future design DNA, as demonstrated to stunning effect by the extraordinary new Batur coupé. From special features and finishes to unique and limited-edition coach-built vehicles, the Mulliner name continues to represent the ultimate in Bentley design and craftsmanship.
According to Bentley, customers are showing an increasing appreciation of the individuality. That’s where Mulliner comes in.
In the past several years the percentage of Bentleys with highly personalized Mulliner features has continued to grow in number.
In fact, demand for Mulliner paint finishes has more than doubled – and the number of Mulliner personal commissions, which bring an individual vision to life in the Mulliner atelier, has tripled, according to Bentley.
Mulliner Limited Edition vehicles reflect carefully chosen and inspirational themes. Each model is brilliantly and uniquely designed, according to Bentley. But what they all share is the standard of Mulliner craftsmanship, taking the concept of Bentley luxury and pushing it as near to perfection as possible.
